About Shaun (From
Walter)
Shaun is a
Vice Chancellor for UC Davis; leading the fundraising efforts for the
university. He is a loving, gracious partner and he works very hard for us. He
is considerate of others around him and always pushes himself to be better at
what he does and to be a better person.
Honest, caring, and devoted are just a few words to describe him. Shaun
has a habit (shared with his father and known throughout their entire family)
of nuzzling and rubbing children’s ears.
It is very cute when he holds a child and the first thing that he does
is touch the little ear lobe. It’s very
endearing and it’s that nurturing touch which makes me know he’ll be a great
dad.
I have
watched Shaun around all of our friend’s children and he always makes a
connection with them. He is such a joker;
making them laugh and being the constant entertainer. When he plays with kids, he’s so awesome when
he crawls on the floor on “all fours” just to see what they are doing and to look
them in the eye. One of the most
precious moments I have of Shaun is him reading a bedtime story to our friend’s
child. We always buy books at Christmas
for the children in our lives and Sam asked Shaun to read him a bedtime story
from one of the books we gave him. I peeked
in the room and saw Sam sleeping in the crook of Shaun’s arm as he finished his
story. I can’t wait to see Shaun reading bedtime
stories to our child. He’s going to be
an amazing father.
